W. Jeff Edenfield, MD

Dr. Edenfield earned his medical degree from the University of Miami, Florida. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, where he received the Bailey K. Ashford Research Medal. Dr. Edenfield also completed a research fellowship in Hematologic Malignancy at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. He served as Chief of Oncology at Womack Army Medical Center in North Carolina. He is a diplomat of the boards of internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology. He is also board certified by the American Association of Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine in palliative care.
Dr. Edenfield has published his works in a number of leading scientific journals. He serves as Principal Investigator for US Oncology trials at the Cancer Centers of the Carolinas. Currently Dr. Edenfield serves as Associate Medical Director for ITOR and holds the appointment of Clinical Assistant Professor in Hematology/Oncology Division of Internal Medicine, USC School of Medicine.
W. Larry Gluck, MD

Dr. Gluck earned his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pennsylvania. He completed his internship and residency at the University Health Center in Pittsburgh and his fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Gluck subsequently joined the faculty of Duke University Medical Center Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology engaging in both laboratory and clinical cancer research. His publications range from the exploration of mechanisms of cellular mediated tumor cell killing to innovative clinical investigation of leukemia, lymphoma and solid tumors. He currently holds dual academic appointments at the GHS and the USC School of Medicine. Current research interests include the investigation of molecular and cellular events of cancer fatigue and deconditioning, the application of novel agents in the treatment of acute leukemia, and targeted agents in the treatment of breast and lung cancer.
Dr. Gluck has been the Medical Director for the Greenville Health System's Apheresis Program since 1992, and became the Medical Director for the Greenville Health System's Cancer Center in 2002. Having joined in 1986 he remains a partner of Cancer Centers of the Carolinas, a private physician practice.
He is an active member of the South Carolina Cancer Alliance (SCCA), a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the impact of cancer on all people in South Carolina, is involved in multiple cancer support programs for patients and families in the Upstate region of South Carolina. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Oncology.
Julie C. Martin, DNP

Director of Cancer Research
Julie Martin received her BS in nursing from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Science degree from Clemson University; she is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner. In addition, she received a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Chatham University. Dr. Martin has more than 30 years experience in oncology nursing in inpatient and outpatient settings and an extensive research background, having been actively involved in clinical trials through the National Cancer Institute and various pharmaceutical companies. She has previously served as Manager of Nursing Services overseeing oncology nurses and medical assistants at seven sites of service and as the Manager of Clinical Research for the Greenville Community Clinical Oncology Program responsible for the research oversight of over 200 patients enrolled annually onto clinical trials covering all adult oncology disease states.
Dr. Martin currently serves as the Director of Cancer Research. As a sub-investigator in ITOR, she is instrumental in the design and implementation of Phase 1 and Biosafety Level 2 clinical research protocols, review and interpretation of clinical data and the overall drug development process. Dr. Martin is a published investigator in the field of drug toxicity and is committed to advancing the profession of oncology nursing as she provides lectures on a number of topics for the continuing education of nurses.
Jan Kueber, RN, BSN, OCN

ITOR Clinical Research Unit Manager
Jan Kueber received her AD in nursing from Greenville Technical College and a BS in nursing from Clemson University. She has more than 15 years of oncology nursing experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and is a certified oncology nurse. The majority of her nursing career has been in a management role. Prior to her move to the Clinical Research Unit she served as nursing supervisor at Cancer Centers of the Carolinas, overseeing three sites of service. Ms. Kueber has 5 years experience in Phase I oncology research.
Charles Gregory, PharmD

ITOR Research Pharmacist
Charles is Manager of the Research Pharmacy at ITOR. He has been practicing pharmacy for 28 years, ten of which have been in oncology. He also has 6 years experience in Phase I drug research. He earned his BS degree in Pharmacy from the University of Georgia in 1982 and Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of South Carolina in 1999.
