The Institute for Translational Oncology Research (ITOR) of Greenville Health System (GHS) and the GHS Cancer Institute together embrace an innovative approach to cancer care. Through a combination of personalized medicine and comprehensive cancer treatment options - including medical, surgical, and radiation therapies which utilize the latest technologies and most advanced procedures - ITOR of GHS and GHS Cancer Institute provide patients in Greenville and throughout the Upstate region of South Carolina access to a level of care that was previously unavailable in the area.

Advancing Care through Innovative Treatment & Research

ITOR of GHS and GHS Cancer Institute offer true innovation in the arenas of treatment & research in order to care for patients through every stage in the fight against cancer.

In addition, our cancer services include a diverse team of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, gynecologic oncologists, adult outpatient services, and a surgical oncology team.

Research achievements of both organizations have raised the bar for cancer care in the region, bringing national acclaim to the Upstate as a site of excellence for cancer research.

The existence of preeminent cancer care and research which is truly accessible for residents of Upstate South Carolina, Western North Carolina and Northeast Georgia means that patients can be treated with advanced therapies in the region where they live, negating the need to travel long distances from home during a stressful time.

The successful partnership of the GHS Cancer Center and Cancer Centers of the Carolinas continues to evolve with the dynamic development of the Institute for Translational Oncology Research. ITOR is committed to resolving issues that physicians and researchers often find to be roadblocks in the quest to cure cancer. ITOR will continue developing innovative strategies to bring cancer research and treatment out of typically compartmentalized silos, thereby integrating basic research and personalized medicine in ways that will maximize resources and enhance communication.
